About FCPBB
The Plant Biotechnology and Breeding team of biotechnology laboratory (National Higher School of Biotechnology, ENSB, Constantine) in collaboration with the Plant Response to Stress team (Biotechnology Research Center, C.R.Bt, Constantine) organize the First Conference on Plant Biotechnology and Breeding (FCPBB).
This conference is organised in the framework of DiVicia project "Use and management of Vicia species for sustainability and resilience in biodiversity-based farming systems". DiVicia is a PRIMA project (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area). It aims to exploit the particular properties of legumes (faba bean and vetch) to design added value sustainable and resilient cereal cropping systems (CCSs) based on biodiversity and adapted to the current and future constraints of the Mediterranean Basin. DiVicia focuses on the identification of a variety of promising landraces and stress resistant genotypes to implement best crop diversification practices in Mediterranean cereal systems (rotation, inter-, mix-cropping).
The conference is intended to bring together senior scientists, young researchers and students working on plant breeding and biotechnology and allow them to present their work, exchange their ideas and experiences. This will provide excellent opportunities for networking and developing productive and sustainable collaborations. Through the invitation of established scientists in the field as guest speakers, the conference will also introduce the participants to the latest developments related to the methodologies and technologies applied by plant breeders worldwide. The event will cover a wide range of strategic crop sectors (field crops, horticultural crops and tree crops).
